The Rest method of acupuncture is a casual and collaborative group experience. It can be used to fix an imbalance or as a regular meditative practice. There is an innate ability within our bodies and minds to self-correct if given the opportunity, and we use acupuncture to help free up this potential.
While acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, we believe the best use of acupuncture is to receive treatments on a regular basis, as preventative therapy, with the objective of maintaining wellness and balance.
WHAT TO EXPECT
After a brief consultation you will be brought to one of our three open space treatment tables, where you will be needled while you lie on your back in a relaxed position and have the opportunity to close your eyes and rest for the remainder of your session.
Acupuncture needles are very thin, single-use, sterile, stainless steel needles. The sensation of insertion can range from completely painless to a slight discomfort. Once the needles have been inserted, most people experience a sense of deep relaxation, similar to a meditative or dreamlike state.
IS REST RIGHT FOR YOU?
REST is designed for anyone looking for balance and to experience a deep state of relaxation. It is especially good for those with conditions related to chronic stress. If you are interested in treating an acute injury or illness (i.e. a recent knee injury, back pain or chest cold or other), you might consider a private treatment we offer.
